“An artist who has no faith is like a painter who is blind.”

-Andrei Tarkovsky

Artist Biography

Since he was young, Nicholas Muzzillo has been glued to the television, watching various series and movies or playing video games. Storytelling through painting-like images and introspective dialogue really shifted his mindset toward his goal of becoming a film director.

More recently, Nicholas has found a new source of inspiration in manga such as Berserk, Vagabond, Vinland Saga, etc. These stories, with their aesthetic presence and profound exploration of the human condition, have deeply influenced his work. The painting-esque imagery and captivating premises in these mangas have found a place in his work, creating a unique artistic vision that I believe will intrigue you.

Attending Ringling College of Art and Design was a transformative experience for Nicholas. It has pushed him to step out of his comfort zone, opening himself up to viewers, and delve deeper into his life and mind. This journey has helped him realize the kind of artist he aspires to be, a growth that I am sure you will find inspiring.

The One in Red Trailer

Out of every project I've done so far in or outside of Ringling, this was by far the most personal and well-realized project I have done. The countless hours I spent on or thinking up the script, shots, aesthetic, dialogue, characters, and the story, while ensuring it was of high quality and meaningful to me, were definitely the most I've ever invested in anything. Never have I been more proud of something I have done, and I'm eager for the world to see it.
